Required Qualifications:

Completion of 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two to four (2-4) years’ experience as a Shift Engineer in a 3rd class plant. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with at least 1-2 years’ building operations experience. Experience operating boilers, chillers, generators, and emergency backup systems. Experience operating a Building Management System (BMS), Fire Alarm System, and Generator/Electrical system. Ability to work under pressure and effectively troubleshoot and solve operational problems. Great communication skills including verbal and written. Strong commitment to client satisfaction and to promoting teamwork and partnerships. Demonstrated ability to work well with others as well as independently. Ability to provide supervisory direction and leadership to others. Basic computer skills in Windows operating environment is a requirement. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 kg.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working as a 3rd Class Power Engineer is preferred. The ability to read and interpret building drawings and schematics (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil) is an asset. Having experience in operations and maintenance in a health care related facility is also preferred.
