The Workplace Health and Safety Fit Tester in the Workplace Health and Safety department is a professional position reporting to the Senior Advisor of WHS Business Partnerships. Reporting directly to the Senior Advisor of Workplace Health & Safety, this position is responsible for Qualitative and Quantitative respiratory fit testing for Alberta Health Services staff at various locations in the South Zone. The incumbents also will perform data entry for completed respiratory fit tests and may be required to assist with other training initiatives such as MSDS database training. Knowledge of FOIPP (Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection) is an asset. Training will be provided in Respiratory Fit Testing Protocol and any other initiatives the successful candidates will be involved in.

We are seeking one student to fill this role. Reporting directly to the Senior Advisor of Workplace Health & Safety, this position is responsible for Qualitative and Quantitative respiratory fit testing for Alberta Health Services staff at various locations in the South Zone. The incumbents also will perform data entry for completed respiratory fit tests and may be required to assist with other training initiatives such as MSDS database training. Knowledge of FOIPP (Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection) is an asset. Training will be provided in Respiratory Fit Testing Protocol and any other initiatives the successful candidates will be involved in. The incumbent works with high independence and in concert with the team to plan and implement Fit Test clinics throughout the zone. Furthermore, this position works to ensure Alberta Health Services' values, goals, and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services to client groups. This position requires travel throughout the South Zone and may be offered either as one full-time role or divided into two part-time positions, depending on the incumbent’s available accommodation in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

A minimum of Grade 12. Currently enrolled in post-secondary program (Occupational Health & Safety, Biological Sciences would be an asset). Excellent communication and organizational skills are desirable. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, demonstrate professional image, exceptional customer service ability, be a strong team player, and be flexible with the ability to adapt to change. Proficiency in various computer applications including word processing, data entry, email, and Internet access is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change.
Preferred Qualifications:Strong interpersonal skills. Fast and accurate data entry skills required. Ability to perform effectively in a team environment. Strong knowledge of computer systems and applications, specifically Microsoft Office, database management. Ability to work quickly and independently. Analytical skills. Adaptability. Excellent customer service. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references. Time management skills.
