Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a community college or university in a related health care field (BSc, RRT, RN, etc.) Minimum 3 years recent experience working in a related health field required Must have experience with computerized laboratory and physiological monitoring systems required. Thorough knowledge of AASM Manual for scoring for sleep and associated events and demonstrated competence in applying these rules required. Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs required. Extensive knowledge of all types of sleep disorders and their relevance to patient population required. Proven ability to identify sleep disorders through the analysis of the sleep study required. Extensive knowledge of medication commonly used in this patient population and their effect on sleep required. Expertise in titrations of CPAP, BPAP, ASV and oxygen required. Ability to sit for extended periods of time when monitoring patients. Ability to assist patients with mobility issues such as pushing wheelchair, repositioning patients in bed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven advanced problem solving abilities. Strong patient assessment and communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Proven ability to interact positively and in a professional manner with staff, physicians, patients and visitors.
