Active or eligible for registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy is required. The incumbent must be eligible to write or have passed the National Respiratory Certification Exam as administered by the Canadian Board for Respiratory Care (CBRC). Current active registration in good standing with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) is required. Responsible to maintain registration with CARTA throughout the duration of employment. Strong patient assessment and communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Proven ability to interact positively with staff, physicians and patients. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) required.
Preferred Qualifications:5 years experience in a tertiary care hospital with recent pediatric experience. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) an asset OR eligibility to write the BRPT exam within 1 year strongly preferred. Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) an asset. Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs.
