Your Opportunity:

The Planner for Physician Recruitment is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making connections with people, evaluating the needs of the group and developing strategies to fulfill those needs. Under direct supervision by the department management, the position is responsible for AHS Physician recruitment activities within the South Zone. The Physician Resource Planner also works in partnership with zone Physicians and Medical Leaders, other zone AHS Medical Affairs teams, AHS facility leads, and community partners to understand healthcare objectives and plan and implement strategies for appropriate physician recruitment based on zone priorities and identified need.

Description:

The Planner role includes working with communities and AHS departments/facilities to identify physician resource needs, planning, and implementing recruiting strategies to attract appropriately trained physicians, facilitate retention strategies, and fulfill employer immigration requirements. The Planner role coordinates all aspects of recruitment from job posting through to the onboarding of physicians' addition, this position oversees quality for appointment and privileging for all change requests and new applications.

Required Qualifications:

Related post-secondary degree or diploma and minimum two years related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered, with minimum 5 years related experience preferred.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong leadership ability. Experience in managing change at a systems level. Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes. Previous Experience with recruitment or medical affairs. Working knowledge of immigration and recruitment legislation, policies, processes. Minimum 4 years' experience in a multi person office and strong background in teamwork. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office apps. (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); Knowledge of ad hoc reporting from Access database in order to respond to date requests. Ability to exercise consistently sound personal judgement, tact and initiative in problem solving. Proven organization, coordination and tracking of workload and issues management are essential abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to function in a fast paced/high demand environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships in support of the working relationship and influencing leadership. Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP).


Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience recruiting and working with Service Canada and Immigration requirements. Career demonstrates increased responsibility and accountability. Familiarity with AHS medical staff bylaws/rules. Ability to recognize political and cultural sensitivities of diverse stakeholders. Experience in change management, AIW. Experience with risk analysis.
