Your Opportunity:
The Alberta Children's Hospital is a warm & vibrant workplace, with team members providing service to children & their families in inpatient units & ambulatory clinics. The Physiotherapist III Discipline Lead will provide leadership, clinical expertise and service delivery coordination for within the Child Health Portfolio including the sites of Alberta Children's Hospital, Child Development Center & Rotary Flames House. As PT Discipline Lead, you will be responsible for the coordination of therapeutic services provided by PTs, TAs, and Exercise Physiologists in sitewide inpatient & outpatient areas and provide leadership to the team to ensure that the services offered are coordinated, effective, evidence based & family/client centered. Under the direction of the Unit Manager you will provide direction for on-going program development/improvement, service provision & program evaluation. You will facilitate student education experiences and education/training opportunities for staff, promote the translation of related research/evaluation, best practice, standards, and guidelines into programs within the Child health portfolio, and be a leader for change management. The Discipline Lead will represent the discipline of physiotherapy at local and provincial levels through committees & working groups. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team using effective interpersonal and communication skills; will exhibit excellent problem-solving including identifying issues, setting priorities, and implementing appropriate plans of action; and will demonstrate initiative, adaptability & flexibility to meet varying clinical & operational needs.
Description:
As a Physiotherapist III, you will be an integral member of our team through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (PT Is, PT IIs, Assistants) where you will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for physiotherapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area. You will collaborate with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies and may coordinate and monitor the care delivery for daily operations.

Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program; or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years experience as a practicing Physiotherapist. Completion of supplementary course work related to leadership Demonstrated professional/career growth
Preferred Qualifications:2 years in a leadership role Pediatric Experience Knowledge of tertiary rehabilitation service delivery Knowledge of Pediatric Community Resources.
