We are seeking a dedicated physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation and Allied Health team within the Neurosciences portfolio. In this leadership role, you will support patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions from the intensive care to discharge with a focus on optimizing outcomes through early rehab. The UAH is a Comprehensive Stroke Centre and home to the newly built Neuro Rehab Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to research and rehabilitation. You will have the opportunity to use rehab technology such as the Zero-G and the RT300 in this new gym. This role is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting and patient transfers. The successful candidate will ensure evidence-based practice aligned with clinical standards and will have opportunities to expand clinical and leadership skills, while making a difference for individuals and families. Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
