Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 1-year Acute Care experience working as a Physiotherapist in the last 2 years required. Alternative Education and Experience may be considered. New graduates with relevant clinical experience in the ER may be considered. Heart and Stroke BCLS-HCP CPR certification and Its your Move training required. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Work tasks and charting is computer based so there are extensive repetitive motion tasks. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (i.e., transfers, bariatric clients, bending, Reaching, twisting, and walking distances). Must be able to lift and carry 10-15 kg regularly if needed. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 1-year acute care experience preferred. Experience with Connect Care preferred. AADL authorizer qualifications is an asset. Experience/Education within MSK, Vestibular and Lower Back Pain an asset. Experience in the assessment/treatment of patients within the geriatric population is an asset. Experience in the assessment/treatment of patients with acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries is an asset. Experience working in the Emergency Department is an asset.
