Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Experience working in an emergency or acute care setting preferred; ambulatory care experience beneficial. 2 years of experience within the last 5 years in an acute care setting preferred. Experience in MSK assessment, geriatric assessment, falls prevention and chronic disease management preferred. Knowledge of community resources is an asset. Possess proven communication skills to work cooperatively with health care team members, patients and their families in a fast paced environment. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. Ability to work with various computer programs is an asset. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written including clinical documentation, is required. Must be a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. Strong collaboration and consultation skills. You can work independently & as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years of experience within the last 5 years in an acute care setting preferred. Ambulatory care experience beneficial. Skills and knowledge in MSK assessment, orthopedics, vestibular assessment, chronic disease management and geriatric assessment are preferred. Knowledge of community resources in and around Edmonton is an asset. Basic computer skills are a must; familiarity with Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records (Connect Care) are preferred.
