Physiotherapist I
Your Opportunity:
Operating out of seven community sites across the city of Calgary and the surrounding areas of Cochrane, Airdrie, and Chestermere, the Pediatric Community Rehabilitation (PCR) Program provides specialized rehabilitation services to children and youth in alignment with provincial health priorities. If you're a dynamic and child-focused physiotherapist who has expertise in infant motor development, this casual opportunity within our Torticollis & Plagiocephaly service stream may be an ideal fit. As a Physiotherapist within our team, you will provide assessment, education, intervention, and caregiver coaching for infants with torticollis, plagiocephaly, and other early motor delays. You’ll work independently and as part of an inter-professional team including families, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants. Our services are grounded in evidence-informed best practices and family-centered care, and our team culture is highly collaborative. You will be supported by a Clinical Practice Leader and provided with orientation and access to mentoring opportunities to ensure you are set up for success. The role may include group education sessions, virtual care, and in-person services across Calgary and surrounding areas. As this is a community-based position, travel to different sites is required.
Description:
As a Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimal physical function and independence in the context of development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline. You will provide interventions, including prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support, to individuals, groups, populations, and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the healthcare team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. You will collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enhance supports, and engage in quality improvement, partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and the professional community, participate in peer mentoring, and supervise students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
