Your Opportunity:
Come join the dynamic Calgary Rural Rehabilitation team! This temporary Part-time opportunity (3 days/wk) will be based out of Oilfields General Hospital in Diamond Valley and supports Physiotherapy services for Acute Care, Long Term care, and outpatient services in Diamond Valley and surrounding areas. The rehab team at OGH consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologist, and Therapy Assistants. The hospital houses 18 Acute Care beds, 30 LTC beds, and an Emergency Care department. Diamond Valley is in Foothills County, approximately 30 min South West of Calgary . Reporting to the Rural Allied Health Manager (Adults) the Physiotherapist will work with our existing rehabilitation team to provide integrated rehabilitation services across the continuum of health services. In addition to performing your clinical roles you will be expected to foster effective relationships within the site and across our rehabilitation teams, and at times participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives within the Rural Calgary zone.
Description:
As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:BLS-C Healthcare provider. At least 1 year experience (minimum 0.5 FTE) working in an Acute Care or Long-Term Care environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Acute care or Complex outpatient populations preferred. AADL authorizer status for small equipment is strongly desired.
