Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Heart and Stroke CPR (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, along with proven success working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities are essential. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required. Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is expected, and experience with Connect Care is preferred. As work tasks and charting are computer-based, candidates must be able to perform extensive repetitive motion tasks and tolerate long periods of sitting or standing. The role also requires participation in hands-on patient care, including assisting with transfers, supporting bariatric clients, bending, reaching, twisting, and walking distances. Candidates must be able to regularly lift and carry weights of 10–15 kg as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the assessment and treatment of the geriatric patient population. Knowledge of community resources, equipment acquisition, continuum of care, and discharge planning. Mentoring Physiotherapy students is an asset. At least 1-year recent experience in an adult inpatient acute care setting preferred; at least one acute care placement for new grads. Experience working with complex medical patient populations, including end-of-life care, chronic disease management, and dementia.
