Your Opportunity:

This position is in the town of Rimbey, a great central location with a small-town friendly feel, located less than 2 hrs from Edmonton, Calgary & Red Deer. Our community is nestled in the scenic Blindman River Valley amongst the rolling hills bordering the Rocky Mountains. Rimbey is the ideal area for fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, boating and boasts many parks. Amenities include a Library, Agricultural Centre, A Community Recreation Centre complete with Gym, Arena, and Curling club, Ball Diamonds, Lions Campground with walking trails, Soccer Fields, Playgrounds, and Outdoor Skating rinks. Gull Lake is 20 minutes from town and boasts a recreational beach with day use and playground, Marina, and a 9/18-Hole Golf Course and Club. As a Physiotherapist I in this community role, your time will be spent in mixed service streams that include Home Care and Long-Term Care (LTC). You will be expected to communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding your clients in the various service areas. In this role you will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, with opportunities to connect with professionals in surrounding areas. You will provide clinical direction to a Therapy Assistant and may, on occasion, be offered the opportunity to provide clinical placements for Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students.

Description:

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Heart & Stroke: BCLS-HCP certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current AADL Authorizer preferred.
