Your Opportunity:

This Physiotherapist position is based out of the Northwest Health Centre in High Level, AB. The town of High Level is located in the scenic northwestern reaches of Alberta. Residents enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreational activities including fishing, golfing, hockey, hunting, camping and swimming, just to name a few. With a population of approximately 3,900 and serving a trade area of 26,000, High Level offers a bustling economy with the local service area committed to ensuring their residents have access to optimal healthcare. You will work closely within a Rehab team consisting of PT, PTA, OT, RT, SLP and Recreation in a multidisciplinary environment. It is an opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings with clients of all ages. You will have the opportunity to work in acute care, outpatients and long-term care settings and will have the ability to use the full scope of your practice. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and benefit package, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Permanent employees working in excess of one (1) year who’s site is above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive reimbursement of personal travel expenses to the annual maximum of $1235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one trip per year to any destination in Alberta. A relocation allowance based on location is also available to successful candidates.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist I, you will be working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing a range of physiotherapy services to patients and families within the established standards, directives and policies for the work environment and the profession. These services include: assessment/screening, development of customized goals and treatment plans for therapeutic interventions, delivery of therapeutic interventions, education, discharge planning and follow-up to enable patients to achieve optimum function and independence. As a Physiotherapist I, you will include patients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. You will be an integral member of our team through provision of guidance to other healthcare professionals and clinical direction to therapy assistants, support personnel and students. You will be reviewing clinical referrals, screening and assessing client needs from a physiotherapy perspective in collaboration with other health disciplines as appropriate. You will be developing, planning and implementing physiotherapy services in cooperation with other disciplines in the hospital and community, and establishing and maintaining effective communication with colleagues, medical staff, and health care practitioners concerning treatment plans, progress and discharge. You will be participating in client, family and caregiver education in collaboration with other disciplines, producing and maintaining information, documentation and verbal reports to support the delivery of physiotherapy services. You will maintain a practice knowledge base including knowledge specific to the defined service area, relevant services and resources and regulatory college standards and requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Valid Driver's License.
