Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current, provisional, or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Experience and certification within the last 12 months in non-sterile compounding is required. Experience and certification within the last 12 months in sterile compounding is required. Experience with unit dose drug distribution is required. Ability to undertake tasks that require repetitive movement, working with arms outstretched for extended periods of time. Physical demands of the role may include regular lifting of up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., as well as frequent pushing and pulling, and standing or sitting for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Membership in a Pharmacy Technician association (e.g., PTSA, CAPT, CSHP) is preferred. Applicants should have recent experience—within the past 2 years—as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting. Recent Experience in conducting Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMH). Experience with Willow Pharmacy (Connect Care). Experience and certification within the last 12 months in Hazardous Compounding.
