Pharmacy Technician

Your key responsibilities include, drug preparation, repackaging, and final product checks, dispensing individual patient prescriptions and ward stock, supporting clinical care through problem-solving and discrepancy resolution, mentoring new staff and students through training and orientation, collaborating across disciplines to improve outcomes and processes. You will gain a breadth of experience while working with a dedicated, interdisciplinary team. Your strong communication skills both verbal and written alongside your interpersonal strengths, organizational abilities, and computer proficiency, will be vital in this role. Your continued proactive approach while building strong relationships and collaborating with all members of the healthcare team is paramount to the continued success of our team and culture. Must be able to withstand long periods of sitting, standing and walking as this role requires daily IV room work and medication prep, dispensing, and packaging for delivery.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Membership with a pharmacy professional organization is preferred. Hospital pharmacy and sterile compounding experience is preferred. Experience with Epic Willow is preferred.
