Pharmacy Technician
Your Opportunity:
Central Production Facility (CPF), is an offsite facility located in Northeast Calgary, providing services to the AHS pharmacies within the Urban and Rural Calgary Zone. Our services include but are not limited to, sterile and non-sterile compounding, unit dose oral solids and liquid prepackaging, and inventory procurement and distribution. The regulated pharmacy technicians are valued members of the Calgary Zone pharmacy team because they ensure accuracy medications prepared, checked, and distributed in accordance with strict timelines. Core duties may include, but are not limited to: Setup, preparation, repackaging, and final product checking of sterile compounding preparation. Setup, preparation, and checking of non-sterile compounding. Setup, preparation, and checking of Total Parental Nutrition (TPN). Setup, preparation, and checking of Automated Packaging medications using PacMED and PacVision. Picking and checking patient-specific compounded sterile preparations. Performing and completing daily operations efficiently, accurately, and safely within strict timelines. Providing guidance to and assisting with the training and orientation of staff and students. Maintaining a high standard of performance through the completion of internal validation programs that assess proficiency in identified tasks such as aseptic technique and final product checking.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
