In this hospital-based position, you will join patient care rounds, work closely with clinical teams, and build relationships with patients and families to tailor medication plans. Key responsibilities include assessing and verifying medication orders and coordinating special access or investigational therapies. You will also support staff development by mentoring new team members, precepting learners, and providing oversight into Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. The ideal candidate is proficient with medication order entry systems and drug information tools. You work effectively within diverse teams and maintain strict patient confidentiality. Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and an empathetic approach are essential. Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities are key to success. Excellent English communication skills are required, along with a commitment to personal and professional accountability. Physical aspects of the role include visual acuity, time at computer workstations, and occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling. Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Entry-to-practice degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) in Pharmacy. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, please attach a resume and cover letter with your application.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited hospital residency and/or post-baccalaureate PharmD program. Additional Prescribing Authorization at time of hire or within the first year of employment. Experience in relevant clinical area, precepting learners, membership in a professional hospital pharmacy organization, and participation in projects or committee work is an asset. At least 1 year of recent experience in hospital pharmacy setting within the last 2 years.
