Pharmacist I
Your Opportunity:
This position is in High River, Alberta at the High River Hospital. The Pharmacist will help support the provision of Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Distributions functions for Inpatients. The position will require active participation on multidisciplinary patient care teams, working with other health care professionals and the provision of drug information to Pharmacy, Nursing, medicine, and other multidisciplinary team members. This position encompasses supervisory functions, committee & project work, and teaching staff and students.
Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA) is required. Successful candidates who do not have APA will be expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing this position, dependent on eligibility. Prac ID for lab ordering. Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services in a collaborative care model. Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. Experience with Connect Care/Epic computerized medication order entry, verification, and different drug distribution systems such as unit dose.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent hospital/direct patient care experience within 5 years. Rural hospital experience asset. Demonstrates critical thinking to solve problems & use evidence-based medicine in patient care. Experience with IV/Chemotherapy admixture, Cancer Care trained/certified. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Demonstrated good time management. Able to work independently & in teams, demonstrates professionalism, accountability & ability to maintain collaborative & respectful relationships.
