Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada is required. Current knowledge of pharmaceutical advances and changes required. Experience with the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care within the hospital setting. 2-4 year’s clinical experience within a specialized program area. Experience with a multi-disciplinary patient care team. Displays tact, courtesy, discretion and respects confidentiality. Evidence of leadership abilities is required. Excellent verbal & written English language comprehension, communication is required. Strong interpersonal skills to contribute to teamwork and collaboration is required. Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, cooperative, able to demonstrate effective service attitude. Problem solving, personal & professional accountability, time management, and self-directed learning skills is required. Proficiency with computer software such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access is required. Travel between sites may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:Membership in The Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is an asset. Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency certificate is considered an asset. Post graduate degree or residency certificate in Hospital Pharmacy preferred. Recent experience within hospital pharmacy preferred. Experience with critical appraisal and evaluation of clinical research and systematic reviews an asset. Experience with creation of formulary drug evaluations and drug use guidelines preferred.
