Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP).
Additional Qualifications:Advanced Prescribing Authority (APA). Recent direct patient care experience preferred (at least 1 year within the last 3 years). Fluency in the English language (both written and verbal). Demonstrates computer literacy for drug information and word processing. Demonstrates ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Demonstrates self-directed learning and continuing education. Capable of making decisions and working independently. Demonstrates good time management including ability to switch priorities and multitask. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Working to full scope of practice including but not limited to, APA, laboratory ordering and authorization to administer injections. 2-5 years recent experience within hospital pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications:Clinical experience. Project experience and committee work. Member of voluntary professional organization. Hospital pharmacy residence and/or prior hospital experience. Experience in pediatric/oncology/neonatal drug therapy. Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. Experience with computer medication order entry, IV admixture and unit dose drug distribution. Experience with Windows based computer application. Active membership in the CSHP.
