We are looking for a highly motivated healthcare professional to be part of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital leadership team. The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (GRH) is the largest freestanding tertiary rehabilitation hospital in Canada serving patients of all ages who require complex and specialized rehabilitation to enable them to participate in life to the fullest. As a leading-edge fully accredited academic teaching hospital, the GRH participates in education training programs for science, technology, engineering, and medical professionals and offers an array of research and technology development opportunities. As the one of the Patient Care Managers of our Older Adult Rehabilitation Program, you will have management responsibility for Units 4C and 4D and the associated clinics and services. You will be responsible for the overall direction and management of a busy and progressive integrated team to ensure that safe, timely, comprehensive, and quality care is provided. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with many teams within the hospital, expanding your experience and knowledge of the specialized services the GRH offers. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with staff, patients, families and other key stakeholders is essential in this position, with the goal of delivering safe, high-quality care and maintaining a positive working culture of teamwork, engagement and respect. Description:

Reporting to the Older Adult Rehabilitation Director at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, you would be responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of high-quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care for the assigned clinical operations units and programs. This includes participating in strategic planning, fostering a culture of physical and psychological safety, maintaining high-quality, collaborative care, creating continuous improvement, ensuring the effective use of resources, and implementing operational plans. The Patient Care Manager works with staff, other leaders, physician dyad partners, and Nursing Professional Practice to ensure that new evidence and best practices are integrated into service provisions. The Patient Care Manager has financial management accountability to plan, manage, and monitor assigned budgets, and authorize expenditures. The Patient Care Manager has people resource management accountability for the supervision of staff, recruitment, and coaching/mentoring.

Required Qualifications:

Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals and assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Solid knowledge of patient care services delivery models and systems. Knowledge of management leadership processes. Knowledge of health care refocus. Understanding of research methodology. Ability to lead progressive patient care services consistent with a refocused healthcare system. Ability to select effective approaches based on analysis and sound judgement. Ability to build constructive relationships. Excellent communication, interpersonal and public relations skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and promote teamwork. Effective financial management skills, effective measurement and monitoring. Ability to manage within approved budgets. Proactive in planning, developing, and implementing effective strategies to resolve issues and problems. Effective change management expertise. Effective ability to manage diverse scope of responsibilities. Results orientated. Business management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program - Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation and strong understanding of the continuum of services provided to diverse client populations with knowledge of patient flow priorities. Understanding of Collaborative Care principles and experience with WFM training and Connect Care.
