Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in human services field, and/or equivalent experience. 3+ years’ experience working within Calgary’s community organizations serving populations at-risk. 3+ years working with Indigenous populations. Experience in advocating for clients by coordinating the efforts of all internal and external parties to meet client and family psychosocial and instrumental needs such as housing, food, transportation, income support and financial management. Experience working with complex high-risk clients, addictions, & mental health with potential exposure to verbal aggression. Established relationships with Indigenous serving agencies, Nations, & supports in Calgary & surrounding area. Self-directed with strong communication, boundaries, professionalism, as well as demonstrated time management, critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and social determinants of health with a strong working knowledge of client experienced barriers to health access. Understanding of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness within an Indigenous way of knowing. Strong understanding of harm reduction, anti-oppressive practice, and trauma informed practice. Strong understanding of the effects of colonization and intergenerational trauma. Proven skills in building relationships with clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with an EMR system (WOLF preferred), and demonstrated aptitude with computers and technology.
