Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience within the last 3 years working with adults with mental health and addiction issues. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) is required. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Knowledge of Mental Health Legislation especially related to Community treatment orders. Ability to be self-directed and exercises independent decision making, and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team. Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic environment. Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Actively integrates patient and family centered care principles and recovery focused care within their practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of computers and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office). Compliance with the AHS Hand Hygiene policies. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in a human service discipline. Experience working in community mental health outreach. Experience working in partnership with non-profit agencies. Experience in conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and medication management.
