Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years recent experience working as an Orthopedic Technician in a Cast Clinic. 3-5 years recent experience working in a Cast Clinic. 3-5 years recent experience working with complex orthopaedic intervention devices such as hinged knee/elbow braces, external fixators, bucks traction, and K-Wires. 3-5 years recent experience working with entonox administration. 3-5 years recent experience working with patients who have complex post-surgical wounds or complex dressings. 3-5 years recent experience working with orthopaedic spine patients. 3-5 years recent experience working with poly trauma patients. 3-5 years recent experience assembling and working with external traction devices. 2-3 years recent experience managing direct purchase supply levels for an ambulatory environment. 2-3 years recent experience working with vendors for orthopaedic equipment and products. 2-3 years recent experience working with isolation patients in an ambulatory environment.
