Completion of diploma from an accredited Ophthalmic Technology Program. Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthamology (JCAHPO).
Additional Required Qualifications:IJCAHPO Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist Certification or equivalent High school graduate or equivalent Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Technologist Performing ophthalmic technical duties. This may include subspecialty workups (retina, emergency clinic, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, oncular oncology) as well as visual field testing (Goldman & Humphrey), tonometry, electrophysiology, dark adaptation, and sonography. 1– Years’ Experience with millennium, CIS, ESP 1-2 years’ experience in managing complex schedules Proven ability to collaborate well with colleagues, physicians, and patients.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Accredited ophthalmic program. Min 2 years’ experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Technologist in a hospital setting. Good understanding of HSAA, UNA, AUPE GSS Collective Agreements. Experience with iProcurement, ESP, CIS, Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple activities under complex and stressful environment.
