Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:IJCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant in a busy Ophthalmology Clinic. CPR certified. Knowledge of glaucoma, retina, neuro-ophthalmology, comprehensive clinics. Knowledge of ophthalmic lasers. Knowledge of medical device reprocessing. Good understanding of medical terminology. Good understanding of ocular pharmacology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function as a team player. Ability to prioritize multiple activities.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of one year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant in a hospital setting. Ophthalmic Assistant accredited training program. Demonstrates AHS values of compassion, accountability, respect, engagement, safety. Ophthalmic Assistant may be required to work overtime hours depending on physician schedule.
