Graduate of an Alberta College of Paramedics approved program and registered with the Alberta Colleges of Paramedics, and member in good standing. A Minimum of 5 years in an Emergency service role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proved ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Other preferred qualifications: Working Knowledge and administrative skills in the following areas: Tactical Paramedic, Flight Paramedic, Incident Response Paramedic, Public Order unit. Proficiency with the following programs: Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and Tableau software. Proficiency in project, and or, change management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree preferred. Assistant Supervisor experience in Calgary zone within the past 3 years and familiar with practices and procedures within the Calgary Zone; as they relate to recruitment, management, investigations, and related HR practices. Experience with the following programs: Tele-staff, e-people, Recruitment and management systems (RMS).
