Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and results-oriented leader to join our North Pharmacy team as an Operations Manager. This leadership role is responsible for providing operational oversight, strategic direction, and performance management for pharmacy services across multiple sites within the Northern Corridors. The position is also responsible and accountable for establishing and contributing to the achievements and goals of the North Pharmacy Management Team. The operations manager will develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including patient care area leaders, zone and site support services, and union representatives to ensure that issues impacting the pharmacy are identified and addressed. The Operations Manager works closely with the Pharmacy Director, Pharmacy Manager, and operational leaders to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered pharmacy services that align with AHS strategic priorities and provincial healthcare standards. The position is primarily responsible and accountable for making operational decisions for drug distribution services and technical functions and having direct leadership responsibility for North Sector pharmacy technicians and assistants. This position offers the opportunity to influence healthcare delivery across a diverse geographic area while leading innovation, quality improvement, workforce development, and operational excellence. This position fosters a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, inclusion, and respect. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Service currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications:

Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). A minimum of 5 years in a hospital pharmacy role with complexity and diversity is desired. Progressive and demonstrated leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy environment, including 2 to 3 years’ experience in a leadership role in hospital pharmacy operations is desired. Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution abilities Ability to lead organizational change in complex environments. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed service area

Preferred Qualifications:

Progressive leadership experience and effective leadership abilities, including decision making, coaching, teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of Pharmacy Services. Effective communication skills, organizational skills, and a commitment to providing quality services. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and demonstrate capacity to create solutions for complex and diverse issues.
