Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will be enrolled and expected to successfully complete the Operating Room Technician Program with Grant MacEwan University. Commitment to the training program, followed by a full-time orientation is required. This temporary one-year position is built upon two phases: Phase 1 – Perioperative Didactic and clinical practicum. Phase 2 – Orientation to solidify practical knowledge and skill. Phase 2 requires successful completion of all criteria from Phase 1. If an individual is not successful in completing Phase 1, the temporary position would end (earlier than the expected, posted date). Minimum two years acute care LPN experience required. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex, integrated team. Demonstrated communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Computer proficiency is required. Ability to stand for long periods of time and meet the physical demands of the position (including, but not limited to: lifting, bending, pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting and squatting). Ability to wear a lead apron for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a critical care area such as ICU or Emergency Room is preferred Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid-moving, complex environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team. Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. University preparation preferred.
