Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This job is open to LPNs with a Specialty in Perioperative Nursing only. Additional qualifications include: Ability to work evenings, weekends and on-call and arrive at the hospital within 20 minutes when called back to work Ability to handle heavy or awkward items (lifting, transferring, carrying), and withstand considerable walking or standing. Ability to be physically confined to an area due to job demands. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and health records. Ability to adhere to nursing policy and practice standards. Ability to maintain adherence to CLPNA Code of Ethics. Ability to identify own strengths and weaknesses and showing initiative for improvement. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with recent OR experience. Evidence of strong interpersonal and effective communication skills in all encounters. Evidence of initiative, flexibility and sound judgment. Evidence of thoroughness and attention to detail. Evidence of maturity and stability. Evidence of positive attitude, caring and concern.
