Occupational Therapist III
Your Opportunity:
This opportunity is open to occupational or physical therapists. As part of the Healthcare Improvement Team, this unique position supports the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (GRH) by leading and facilitating clinical program evaluation, clinical service design, clinical research, knowledge mobilization and quality and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be highly self-directed managing complex projects and implementing multifaceted solutions to ensure the provision of efficient, evidence-based, high quality clinical care services across the GRH. This position is accountable for providing leadership and support in using quality improvement, knowledge translation, as well as project and change management methodologies to facilitate local operational priorities and process improvements impacting the GRH. The individual in this position is one of the hospital’s subject matter experts in clinical program evaluation, quality improvement, change leadership, knowledge translation, and implementation of evidence-based clinical practice. This position works with site leadership and a wide range of internal and external partners, front line staff, senior leaders and patient and family advisors to foster a culture of continuous and meaningful quality improvement. This position includes elements of clinical practice support, acting as an expert resource to facilitate, lead and coach staff in the delivery of evidence-based, patient and family or caregiver centred clinical services. The successful individual builds capacity for improvement in clinical research, evaluation, knowledge mobilization and quality improvement across the site. May include collecting and analyzing data to support operational improvements and decision making, as well as working with analytics teams to use data-driven insights to identify areas for optimization.
Description:
As an Occupational Therapist III, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (OT Is, OT IIs, Assistants). You will facilitate the development and on-going monitoring of clinical standards of practice for occupational therapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area, collaborating with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies.

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:NOTE: This opportunity is open to occupational or physical therapists. Training in applied research, quality improvement and/or evaluation required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in rehabilitation. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with program evaluation and quality improvement. Responsible for maintaining active registration with the appropriate college throughout the duration of employment. Membership with National Association is recommended. Training in process improvement methodologies (e.g., AIW, Lean, Six Sigma) and certification in change management practices (e.g., Prosci) is required. Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered. Experience managing complex projects using formal methodologies, data analysis and supporting teams in identifying key performance indicators (KPIs). Experience conducting and analyzing qualitative data is preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships and to work both independently and interdependently. Well-developed critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve. Proficiency with computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Visio, PowerPoint, Power BI). Working with large data sets and statistical software and proficiency in data visualization is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent time management, priority setting skills and ability to work independently. Leadership skills, comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and mentoring, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Experience and skills working with a wide range of service providers, including other health portfolios, as well as other sectors including community-based agencies. Proficiency with Connect Care.
