Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicants with equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and/or Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists is beneficial. Minimum five (5) years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist in a large urban acute care hospital working with a variety of patient populations. Minimum two (2) years demonstrated leadership experience in strategic planning, leading change and evaluation. Current CPR certification. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Demonstrated knowledge and engagement in the discipline related to best and leading practices, governance, legislation, ethics, current issues and trends. Demonstrated ability to guide and lead teams, build partnerships and foster effective relationships in a collaborative, inter-professional environment, including students, therapists and therapy assistants. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and address or resolve complex issues and practice concerns. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change within a complex health care environment. Demonstrated knowledge of the practice of Recreation Therapy with regards to best and leading practices.
