Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience with 3 years in an acute care setting (hospital). A leadership role in research, program development or a service delivery project within the previous 2 years. Clinical experience within the last 5 years in at least two of the following clinical areas: Geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics (including hand therapy), critical care/ ICU, pediatrics and general medicine. Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS for Health Care Providers. Professional accountability, initiative, autonomy and leadership skills. Demonstrated ongoing professional development education. Demonstrated experience with change management. Demonstrated leadership in adult learning, group facilitation and clinical practice while working within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to organize and set priorities; anticipate needs of the OT discipline related to practice and service delivery. Proficient computer skills are required (Internet, Microsoft Office as well clinical information systems such as Accuro, Ecritical/ Metavision, Infomed and Sunrise Clinical Manager). Ability to prepare presentations and maintain staff development information using software tools such as PowerPoint and Excel. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team of health care professionals. Experience with decision making and capacity assessments. Experience in educational program design, delivery and measurement of outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years or more experience in acute care and outpatient settings. Demonstrated experience with change management related to practice changes, program improvements or processes. Experience in educational program design, delivery and measurement of outcomes. Completion of the following AHS courses: AHS Improvement Way (AIW), Crucial Conversations, Art of Accountability and Enhancing Team Effectiveness.
