Your Opportunity:

Empathetic, patient, and encouraging, you’re ready to craft a niche for yourself in Occupational Therapy. Provide services to people of all ages in both facility (i.e., Acute and Long Term Care) and community settings (i.e., Home Care) in two neighboring towns. Experience the variety of rural practice in a larger and smaller town, just 30 minutes apart. The towns of Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe each have unique qualities that make them a great place to live, work, and play. Whitecourt is a community of 10,000 that lies in a forested area at the meeting of four waterways. Start your engines for outdoor adventure in the “Snowmobile Capital of Alberta,” and go hiking, biking, or ATVing along the vast trail system, or boat, fish, or paddle one of the area’s rivers. Whether you want to visit Edmonton’s bright city lights or retreat to Jasper National Park’s mountains, you can do either as a day or weekend trip. The prairie town of Mayerthorpe prides itself on friendliness and the desire to help. Just 123 km outside of Edmonton, the community of 1,300 also offers easy daytrips to Edmonton or Jasper as you immerse yourself in community living: joining a sports team, community, or social group that fits with your interests. AHS is Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully-integrated health system, and has been named among Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Alberta’s Top 75 Employers and a top employer for young people and diversity. Imagine a supportive employer, comprehensive benefits, opportunities for career growth, and finding your work-life balance.
