Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years recent experience in Home Living- Children’s Home Care or equivalent experience is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Experience in a quality management, leadership or educational role in continuing care or acute care with evidence of systems thinking within the broad perspectives of community and continuing care services. Knowledge of continuing care pediatric service delivery models, community resources and programs, change management, quality improvement principles, computer technology and applications (meditech), conflict resolution and group facilitation processes. Proven ability to prioritize and organize workload and multiple priorities meeting tight deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing health care environment. Resilience and flexibility; ability to work under pressure: strong work ethic. Creativity, innovation, enthusiasm and respect for others. Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership. Current AADL authorizer. Knowledge of principles of adult learning.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging health care issues. McMaster Case Management training and understanding of the AHS Continuing Care Case Management Competency Framework. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction, quality health services delivery, education and research. Proven communication skills – clear concise and suited to target audience with proven strong negotiation. However, skills, and experience relevant to practice in community sector will be considered.
