Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. A minimum of 1-year acute care experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the last 5 years required. New graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Upper extremity splinting, dysphagia and swallowing assessments, Connect Care, AADL authorizer qualifications. Experienced in the assessment/treatment of patients within the geriatric population, experience in the assessment/treatment of patients with acute/chronic musculoskeletal injuries, knowledge of community resources; equipment acquisition; continuum of care and discharge planning and experience working in the Emergency Department is an asset.
