Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with neurological patients and patients with complex needs. Must possess strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated problem-solving, planning and organization skills. Must demonstrate a strong patient/family-centered approach to care. Strong navigation skills connecting clients with community resources. Strong written communication skills. Working knowledge of computer applications including word processing, email and internet access. Ability to be self-directed and to effectively work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Must possess a sound understanding of the community and the determinants of health. Strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) required and required to perform up to a medium level of work (20-50 lbs.) including bending, lifting, pulling, and/or rotation related to client transfers or therapeutic intervention. Required to sit for long periods of time. In a community setting, there are occasionally some physical demands with transporting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in Connect Care and/or EMR is considered an asset. Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams. Experience providing virtual and in-person services, both individually and in group settings.
