Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program. Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Active Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. It’s your move patient handling certification. Minimum 1-year clinical experience in adult inpatient or outpatient acute care or rehabilitation setting. (Willing to mentor new grads to be successful in this role). Empathy and compassion: an understanding of the functional, cognitive and emotional needs of patients with cancer. Effective interpersonal communication: Ability to connect with patients, families and healthcare teams in various modes of communication (verbal, written, Zoom, email). Experience providing occupational therapy in an interdisciplinary team. Experience working with Therapy Assistants.
Preferred Qualifications:Completed Connect Care Allied Health Therapies ILT training. At least 6 months experience using Epic/ Connect Care. Oncology and/ or palliative experience. Certified Lymphedema Therapist (e.g. Klose, Vodder, Norton). Experience facilitating groups and classes. AADL authorizer for mobility aids and/or garments.
