Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Essential to the skill-set of this position will be an understanding of how mental illness and addiction impact community functioning, clinical assessment of functional cognition using standardized methods, effective skill development and task analysis techniques, thorough understanding of occupational engagement, demonstration and implementation of recovery oriented care, and knowledge of concurrent care best practices. Other additional qualifications include: Bachelor or Master’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University program. CPR Level C.
Preferred Qualifications:Additional training in recovery based care, concurrent care principles, cognitive disability model, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and/or psycho-educational skill development would be an asset. Mental health experience preferred. Community based experience would be an asset.
