Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A keen, self-learner willing to work as a member of the Vascular Surgery team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong team player with the proven ability to diffuse difficult situations. Strong computer skills required with a preference for knowledge of Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing. Certification in Vascular Surgery and NP experience is an asset. Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical or hospital setting. ACLS certification. Strong research background or involvement in evidence-based practice. Experience in leadership roles within healthcare settings.
