Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital is seeking two Nurse Practitioners to support our hospitalist teams with a Family Medicine focus and to play a key role in developing our NP program. The facility offers a Med/Surg, LDRP, Surgical Services, IV Therapy/OPD, and a 24/7 Emergency Department, supporting a well-rounded and rewarding practice environment. In this advanced clinical nursing role, you’ll provide expert care to individuals, families, and communities, applying advanced knowledge and clinical decision making in assessment, diagnosis, and management of health needs. You’ll support hospitalist teams as an integral member of an interdisciplinary care team, providing comprehensive direct care to clients across the life span. Your role also includes collaboration in program development, evaluation, research, and clinical teaching. You’ll participate in the development and ongoing review of medication related guidelines, ensuring alignment with provincial prescribing and distribution standards. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Computer literacy skills mandatory (i.e., Connect Care, Netcare, etc.). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work directly and effectively with patients and their families. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment while also functioning independently. Proven capability to excel in a fast paced, dynamic setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include recent experience working in an Outpatient/IVT/Emergency/Medicine environment, with current ACLS certification considered an asset. The ideal candidate values collaboration and is open to supporting occasional schedule flexibility as part of a growing NP program, while benefiting from a supportive team culture that prioritizes work–life balance.
