Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to support a flexible work schedule. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable working directly with patients and their family members. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team environment. Ability to function independently. Excel at working in a dynamic fast paced environment. Work well under pressure and stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications:Application & knowledge of current research, with ongoing interest in research-based care. Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment & therapeutic interventions, health promotion, diagnostic procedures & follow-up care in the community an asset. Completion of ACLS & one or more of: PALS, TNCC, ITLS & NRP. Demonstrated clinical skills in ECG interpretation, wound closure, minor procedures (aspiration, incision & drainage, excision of lesions), fracture management & wound care preferred.
