In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This position is currently located in Slave Lake, Alberta, with location negotiable within the central area of the North Zone. This position does require travel within the North Zone. A large part of this position includes virtual work but also requires face to face patient interactions. In future, this position will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 virtual NP consultation coverage throughout North Zone.

Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a NP. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience managing palliative care clients (within the last 3 years) in an advance practice role. Minimum 1 year of Seniors Health experience. Experience in at least two (2) care sectors, including Home Care. Advanced clinical & assessment skills. Competent with MS Office Suite, TEAMs, ZOOM, and tele-health knowledge. Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel, and the ability to travel in inclement weather. Able to carry a 30lb medical bag and/or various equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

CNA Certification in Palliative Care. McMasters Case Management Education. Meditech and Connect Care Trained. Previous experience in leadership role. Experience in program planning, education of adults, interdisciplinary practice, and research activities.
