Reporting to the Unit Manager, as the Nurse Clinician – Emergency, you will work as an essential of the Peter Lougheed Centre Emergency Department team leading and caring for patients of varying acuity. Specific Accountabilities: This position is responsible for leading, organizing, and directing the day-to-day nursing functions of the Emergency Department to ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient, and of the highest standard. The Nurse Clinician is responsible for the coordination of a multidisciplinary team providing patient care in a specialty area and facilitating flow throughout the site. The roles assumed include clinical leader, resource person, and role model.
Description:
As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from an approved school of Nursing required. A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from a recognized university. Current CARNA Registration. Minimum 5 years current clinical expertise in Adult Emergency. Charge Nurse Experience. Trauma and Triage Trained. Ability to promote and Lead Change within a Large Team. Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong Written and verbal Communication skills. Annual Clinical Competencies Up to Date. BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:Additional Leadership Courses/Education. QI Experience. TNCC. ACLS. PALS. ENPC. Connect Care.
