Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in the treatment of eating disorders. 5 years progressive nursing experience in both psychiatry and medicine. Commitment to care of eating disorder patients through a family centered nursing approach. Advanced clinical knowledge in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. Expertise and competence in nursing practice both psychiatric and medical skills, assessment skills, interviewing, counselling, teaching, and group dynamics. Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently but collaboratively with patients’ families, nursing, and multi-disciplinary team members. Displays initiative, accountability, good time management, decision-making ability, clinical judgement skills, leadership, and strong organization skills. Ability to be self-directed and resourceful. Knowledge and skills in best practice and quality assurance The NC will require strong communication, clinical decision making and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing preferred. Experience in eating disorders. Experience in mental health. Experience in group therapy. Experience in medical skills. Experience in leadership. Experience in education. Experience in various levels of care: outpatient, day treatment, inpatient treatment.
