Nuclear Medicine Technologist II
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Nuclear Medicine/PET. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II – Nuclear Medicine/PET Supervisor will: Provide leadership and vision to support the department's goals related to AHS's overall mission, vision, goals, philosophies, and policies. Provide department supervision, organize, and prioritize workflows, monitor, and evaluate staff inventory levels, and assign daily work. Facilitate and ensure the completion of staff orientation, education, and training, including Annual Continuing Education (ACE) requirements. Monitor staff and department compliance with AHS standards and ensure high-quality patient care. (i.e., policies, procedures, protocols). Develops, monitors, and adjusts patient and staff schedules and workflow to ensure effective and efficient services of the highest quality are provided. Collaborates with team to establish role expectations and assess individual and department performance. Participates in recruitment, interviewing, and selection process. Identifies, develops, and facilitates staff development, training, or learning needs and promotes a learning culture. Engages staff and collaborates with department stakeholders to identify patient and area needs and apply context-appropriate solutions to support safe, quality service and patient-family-centered care. This role also provides on-the-floor support within their scope as required.
Description:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) II, you will be responsible for performing the duties of clinical coordination, monitoring care, evaluation and staff supervision or is the radiation and laser safety officer. As a NMT II, you will be the senior technologist responsible for leading, organizing and directing all technical and daily work activities. You will ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient and of the highest standard. You will also participate in ensuring consistent workload distribution and productivity standards and procedures are followed.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a diploma from an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program (NMT). Leadership courses required Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). ACMDTT Enhanced practice authorization for PET/CTSPECT/CT. ACMDTT Enhanced practice authorization for Contrast Media Injections. A minimum of 5 years Nuclear Medicine/PET experience. Experience in Theranostics is required. Previous supervisory/management experience required. Strong computer skills required Experience with MS office suite required. Leadership and change management skills are required. Strong organizational skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with technical, medical, and administrative personnel. Coaching and mentoring skills to foster an environment of collaboration and effective teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:Leadership diploma/ degree preferred. Clinical Preceptor experience preferred
