Master¿s degree in Neuroscience/Neurophysiology or related discipline. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience with eletrophysiological monitoring techniques. Experience performing and communicating in the OR environment. Direct experience in clinical research. Demonstrated expertise in systems neurophysiology. Working knowledge of electricity, signal conditioning, electronic instruments and computers. Proven abilities in written and verbal communications. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy, pathologic processes, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of procedures followed in conducting electrophysiological tests and examinations on patients. Knowledge of electrophysiological equipment used in performing tests on patients. Ability to analyze various electronic and neurophysiologic waveforms. Ability to stand, turn and stoop among several types of equipment in an operating room suite. Ability to apply different types of electrodes to a patient's anatomy with precision and speed in preparation of monitoring a surgical procedure. Ability to sit for extended periods of time, while concentrating on monitoring computer screen images during a surgical procedure.
Preferred Qualifications:Undergraduate Medical Degree or basic Science Degree in appropriate discipline (Neuroscience, Physiology, etc.). Demonstrated record of achievement through publication record and success in obtaining external funding awards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to clearly communicate monitored response findings to physician. Demonstrated understanding of a philosophy of Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC).
