Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma in Social Services or equivalent may be considered. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Current First Aid certification. Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (NVCI). Current Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2-3 years working in a community-based health care or human services setting with individuals impacted by addiction, mental illness and/or concurrent disorders. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of community support services relevant to client population. Mandatory training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, BLS, ASIST (suicide intervention) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to engage and support individuals with mental, physical and cognitive challenges. Time management skills. Knowledge and skills in crisis intervention. Well-developed reasoning and problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills and effective communication skills. Highly flexible and able to adapt when faced with competing demands. Previous experience in recreation programming is an asset.
