Completion of diploma in Social Services or equivalent may be considered. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Current First Aid certification. Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (NVCI). Current Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2-3 years working in a community-based health care or human services setting with individuals impacted by addiction and/or mental health disorders. Knowledge of community resources relevant to client population is essential. Training in Non-violent Crisis Intervention and suicide intervention training required. Well-developed reasoning, problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, and effective communication skills are required. Highly flexible and able to adapt when faced with competing demands. Ability to engage and support individuals with mental, physical and cognitive challenges. The successful candidate will have effective time management skills and demonstrate knowledge and skills in addressing crisis situations.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working with the vulnerable population in an Outreach capacity preferred.
